M.A. Thesis: "Willy Brandt and China: Ostpolitik and West German Relations with Beijing, 1968-1972"
Research Interests
I am a historian of the global Cold War, with a special interest in German foreign policy and international relations in East and Southeast Asia. My master’s thesis investigated the normalization of diplomatic relations between West Germany and the People’s Republic of China as part of Willy Brandt’s Ostpolitik. My dissertation will look at how different Cold War national divisions, for instance the two Germanys and the two Chinas, intertwined internationally.
