Triangle Intellectual History Seminar: Christopher Cameron

October 16, 2022 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

The Triangle Intellectual History Seminar

Thanks to those of you who came out for our triumphant return to in-person gathering! Please mark your calendars for our next meeting, to be held on Sunday, 16 October, from 5-7 PM. We will be welcoming Christopher Cameron, a Professor of History at UNC-Charlotte, where he focuses on African American Religious and Intellectual History. He received his Ph.D. from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2010, and has published widely, including two books (the most recent is Black Freethinkers: A History of African American Secularism (Northwestern University Press, 2019)). He is also the founding president of the African American Intellectual History Society.

The paper, entitled “Unitarians, Transcendentalists, and Abolitionism,” is available to those who plan to attend: please email James Chappel (james.chappel@duke.edu) if you would like the link.

The seminar will be held at the John Hope Franklin Center and on Zoom. Address and Zoom link available upon request.

Feel free to write if you have any questions. And as always, we look forward to seeing you at the seminar.
