Our very own Dr. Kathleen DuVal wrote a compelling piece in Time Magazine discussing ongoing efforts by indigenous groups in the United States to reclaim artifacts currently held in museums across the country – as an increasing number of institutions have taken to doing in recent years. In the piece, DuVal argues that these efforts (and their recent success) is a positive sign that people’s understanding of how, where, and from whom they can learn about Native American history and culture is changing.
