Richard M. Krasno Distinguished Professor in History Klaus Larres, a noted expert in international affairs and global diplomacy, has just published a short article on the 2023 EU-China Summit. The Summit was just held in Beijing and was the first such event to take place in-person in four years. His article, published by the Wilson Center, argues that the talks reveals many current disagreements between the Chinese and European leaders, but were nonetheless less disastrous than they might have been.
Dr. Larres also organizes the internationally renowned Krasno Lecture series at UNC. Previous lectures cover issues as wide-ranging as the war in Ukraine, American military leadership, and World War I and II. Recordings of many of these lectures can be found here.
