Dr. John Wood Sweet, author of the award-winning book, The Sewing Girl’s Tale, was featured in a piece by Alyssa LaFaro in UNC’s “Endeavors” series! Endeavors highlights the people and personal stories behind important and groundbreaking research being done at UNC. LaFaro explains that “John Wood Sweet writes character-driven narratives filled with vivid descriptions and emotional moments to unpack early America’s complicated history,” and praises Dr. Sweet for theempathy he demonstrates for the past. We certainly know him to be an empathetic and supportive member of our departmental community here at UNC!
