Dr. Erlacher’s research focuses on the cultural and intellectual history of modern Eastern Europe and Russia. His work explores the entanglements of imperial states, national movements, and revolutionary ideas in the borderlands between Berlin and Moscow, with emphasis on the bitterly contested regions of Ukraine from the nineteenth century to the present.
