Research Interests

I am interested in the history of childhood and youth in 20th-century China. My research employs Children’s Day as a lens to investigate how war, nationalism, communism, and gender systems shaped childhood experiences and how children, in turn, influenced and shaped Chinese history. Additionally, I am keen to explore how examining children’s perspectives can enrich and potentially reshape our understanding of family dynamics, wartime conditions, and political activities in 20th-century China.
