Research Interests
Since the 1990s Richard Talbert’s research has focused on Greek and Roman consciousness of space and time. He developed the Ancient World Mapping Center (https://awmc.unc.edu). His current main project represents a marked shift, however: it uncovers a buried clash over academic freedom at Queen’s University, Belfast, where he began his teaching career.
