It’s a big week for Dr. John Wood Sweet! In addition to winning the prestigious Bancroft Prize for American history, Dr. Sweet’s book, The Sewing Girl’s Tale, has won the New York City Book Award. The NYCBA, established in 1996, honors books of literary quality or historical importance that evoke the spirit or enhance the appreciation of New York City. It is awarded every year by the New York Society Library.
