A UNC History PhD student was featured in today’s issue of The Well for the incredible work he has done fundraising for those effected by the recent earthquakes in Turkey. Ahmet Tarık Çaşkurlu, himself a survivor of the devastating 1999 earthquakes, has been working with Carolina’s Turkish Student Association, Arab Student Association, and Muslim Student Association to organize events and fundraise in an effort to provide support for those who were left unhoused, displaced, or otherwise harmed by the devastating events. If you’re interested in supporting these fundraising efforts, the Turkish Student Association is organizing a potluck iftar on March 27th at 7:30. Tickets are $15 at the door. In addition, there will be a benefit concert on April 28th. Details can be found in the article below.
