Dr. Bret Devereaux, who graduated with his PhD in Ancient History from UNC-CH in 2018, was featured in a recent edition of the UNC research publication Endeavors. The article brings together Devereaux’s teaching and research on the social and material costs to Roman warfare in the third and second centuries B.C.E. In his classes, he brings together humor and historical accuracy to engage students in the study of warfare.
