Professor Sarah Shields has been awarded this year’s Middle East Studies Association Undergraduate Education Award. Professor Shield’s teaching about Middle East history has been creative, innovative, student-centered, and diverse. She also has shared both her historical expertise and pedagogical strategies through digital and more traditional publications as well as extensive public outreach.
Professor Shields has already received multiple teaching awards here at UNC; this recognition reaches even more widely. Congratulations!
