Miguel La Serna recently co-authored a “Perspective” piece for the Washington Post with Kia Caldwell, professor of African, African American and Diaspora Studies, about the lack of diverse leadership at UNC and its role in exacerbating the COVID-19 pandemic. They argue that the public health crisis in the UNC system and on-campus “could have been avoided, had university officials paid more attention to the concerns of students, faculty, and staff of color and their allies.” Read the full article here.
