Undergraduate Minor (Old Curriculum)

Undergraduate Program: Requirements of the History Minor (in the "Old" Curriculum)

(This description is for students who entered UNC as first-year students before fall 2006, as sophomores before fall 2007, or as juniors before fall 2008)

To have a minor in history a student must have 5 history courses.

  • A maximum of two of these five courses may be below 200 in the new numbering system (below 50 in the old numbering system).
  • Only one of these courses may fulfill a General College perspective requirement.
  • A student must do straight "C" level work or better in at least four of the five courses.
  • Three of the five courses must be taken at UNC-CH or in a program sponsored by UNC-CH.
  • No history course may be used to fulfill a BA level perspective unless the course is a capstone course.
