Dissertation Title: “Revolving Doors of Power: How Revolutionary Ekaterinburg Became Sverdlovsk, 1917-1924”

Research Interests

My research focuses on the history of Russia and the Soviet Union, in particular the period between 1905 and 1922. I am interested in the revolutionary experience outside the capital cities of St. Petersburg and Moscow and how local bureaucratic institutions responded to and shaped national events. My dissertation will explore the dynamics of revolution and civil war in the city of Yekaterinburg in the Ural Mountains region.
