Secondary Intrest Form

Indicate more than one field of interest in History

In the History Department we have students majoring in nine different fields.  Some students, however, work in more than one of these fields (e.g. U.S. History and Women’s/Gender History; Global History and Latin American History).  The application form used by the Graduate School does not allow students to indicate more than one field of interest.  During our evaluation of applications, the History Department finds it helpful to have secondary interests identified.  Please complete the following form if your prospective research area crosses thematic, chronological, or geographical fields.  If you are satisfied with the field you have designated on the graduate school application, you do not need to complete this form.  Europeanists should complete the form if they have a definite interest in medieval/early modern versus modern European history.  Indicating multiple fields gives us a fuller picture of you, but does not have any specific bearing on the outcome of your application.
