Interim Meeting with Doctoral Committee.
Within 18 months of the prospectus defense, each student must meet again with his or her committee to discuss progress toward degree. Candidates will pre‑circulate for discussion: (a) a 2‑4 page statement of archival work and findings, (b) timeline and table of contents from the original prospectus, and (c) a revised timeline and a revised/annotated table of contents. This will be an informal meeting, not a defense, and it can take place in faculty offices, over lunch, or in any suitable venue. The meeting should include at least three members of the committee; if other faculty cannot attend, they may communicate their thoughts on the materials directly to the candidate. An Interim Meeting form should be filed with the Graduate Secretary upon completion of this meeting. If advisor and student agree, this meeting may be waived and a statement of support from the advisor should be filed with the Director of Graduate Studies.
