Research Interests: My M.A., entitled "The Political Culture of Drug Control: The Rise of a Punitive Regime, 1951-1956," examines electoral politics, gender stereotypes, civil rights conflicts, the culture of the cold war, racial bias in the law, and the escalation in punishment of drug law violators. Ongoing research projects explore how effectively the United States promoted a punitive, proscriptive model of drug control and whether such efforts guided anti-narcotic laws in other nations.
