Research Interests: I am interested in the history
of slavery throughout the Atlantic world, and most of my own work has
focused on slave culture and slave spirituality in the U.S. South and
the British Caribbean. My current research explores the social
practice of Obeah within enslaved communities in the British Guiana
during the early nineteenth century.
