Research Interests: My dissertation examines the relationships among American feminism, women's higher education, and national defense policy in the United States between 1940 and 1965. Specifically, I am interested in how advocates of women's higher education sought to create new opportunities for college-educated women by appealing to the country's concerns about "brainpower" and by couching their arguments in the language of national defense.
