Bio: Christina Carroll is a master's student at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. She finished her BA in History and English literature in 2006 at Vassar College.

Research Interests: Her research will examine in a comparative and transnational perspective the memories of the war of 1870/71 in late nineteenth century French and German novels, literary magazines, and popular art, focusing particularly on the place of the war in gendered representations of the nation in both countries across mediums. Her interests include modern France and Germany, the history of nationalism, gender and sexuality, memory, and representation.
