Research Interests
Benjamin Waterhouse’s research focuses on politics and political culture in the United States during the mid-to-late 20th century. His current book project explores the role that large, national business associations—and their lobbyists—played in shaping economic policy and the conservative political movement during the 1970s and 1980s. He is interested in the dynamic relationship between business, government, labor, and the public interest movement. Waterhouse teaches courses on business history, the history of political thought, economic history, and American history in the 20th century.
