Art for Lunch: “Sahmat’s Theatrical Origins”
With Afroz Taj (Asian Studies) and John Caldwell (Asian Studies)
Free. RSVP Required.
This talk explores the centrality of theater for Sahmat and its creative output. It looks at The Sahmat Collective in the context of theater, from Safdar Hashmi’s street theater to the “performance” of artworks like Art on the Move and the Auto-Rickshaw Project. The Ackland’s Art for Lunch series presents lunchtime talks in the galleries that are designed to add a little bit of art exploration into your busy day, so bring a bag lunch!
