With Iqbal Sevea (History)
Free. RSVP Requested
This talk will explore the ways in which Sahmat employs various mediums of popular culture (including art, theater, films and songs) to challenge communalism and celebrate a secular vision of India. Sahmat’s work and activism will be discussed within the context of popular culture as a politicized terrain in which Indian society and history are represented or re-presented in various ways.
