HIST 90: Americans at War and at Play: The Recreation Homefront in World War II

This course will deal with the homefront of the Second World War. It will concentrate on how Americans played during that great upheaval. The story of the fighting front is well known, but less is known of the homefront and less still of many aspects of the leisure life of wartime Americans. This course will seek to shed light on this aspect of American behavior. The readings will cover a wide a spectrum of topics.
